Structural Design Lab regularly provide Regulatory Peer Reviews of the structural design of buildings. We also have experience in the review of concept designs, feasibility reviews and review of completed construction works for both residential and commercial projects. Our approach to peer review is a collaboratively one, engaging with the design engineer early on during the review process. At the completion of our peer review we will provide a Peer Review Producer Statement (PS2) to assist you with your building consent application.

Geotechnical Investigations

At Structural Design Lab we can help you determine the soil bearing capacities on your site to enable appropriate foundations to be designed for your building or retaining wall structures. We have the in-house expertise to carry out shallow site soil investigations (TC1&2). For areas with high potential for liquefaction (TC3), or hill sites, we can put you in contact with a chartered (CPEng) geotechnical engineer who can carry out these investigations.

Construction Monitoring

Structural Design Lab can carry out inspections at key stages of your project to ensure that your work meets the requirements of the original structural design. Construction Monitoring by a structural engineer is often a consenting authority requirement, and the use of these inspections’ aides in the Code of Compliance process. At the end of construction monitoring, Structural Design Lab can provide reports that are customised to your specific requirements which can include a Construction Monitoring Producer Statement (PS4).
